Here we are in the final stages of the vocal process.  Davide Raso is lending his ear to compile the best takes or fragments of takes for the final production of Always Starting Again, Carry Me, and Broken Dreams.  Digital technology applied to music is truly amazing.  In a way it’s sad.  I can’t help wondering what the impact will be on musicianship when  ”studio magic” has progressed to the point where you don’t even need to be a good singer or instrumentalist anymore.  Will instruments as we know them become obsolete?  Are we as musicians destined to become no more that computer programmers (no offensive of course to the coders out there)?  What would Frank Zappa say?  Santana? Bach? Mozart?   They’re probably rolling over in their graves!  Well, maybe not Santana.  It’s about 7am in Los Angeles.  He’s probably just rolling over in bed!    -Michael Ray
